I started off as an official babysitter during my last years of high school so that I would have extra cash for prom and graduation. During that time, I made sure to balance work, class, and of course the care giving of my twin sisters that I became responsible of due to domestic hardship that I faced early in life; my mother was hardly around because she worked two jobs to provide for us. As a young caregiver, I’ve learned how to provide for my sisters with the right affection and attention that they needed due to lack of having my mother around. Because I was so young, I made sure to know the proper measures and skills of taking care of my younger sisters as well as babysitting for others. I became certified in CPR and First Aid. As time went on, I motivated myself to become a role Read more model for my younger sisters as well as for the children that I was looking after. I graduated high school with honors and pursued a college education where I then received my associates degree in science and in liberal arts. After completing my degree, I decided to spend all of my time looking over my younger sisters since they were entering high school. I reviewed their homework; did the house chores; made sure they followed curfew and house rules; I made home cooked meals so they could always remember and be sure that they were home and that despite the hardship of not always having our mother around, life is great. It was then that I discovered my passion for cooking. I pursued my passion by enrolling at Le Cordon Bleu: Institute of Culinary Arts. After completing my degree in the culinary arts, I went on to internship at the J.W. Marriott, however, being away from children made me realize my true love for children and making their day and lives better by doing that little meticulous things: laundry, talking to them about their day, playing with them, and making them home cooked meals that they will be able to remember for a lifetime. I do realize that I don’t have actual nanny experience- just babysitting during my years in high school and becoming a second mom to my sisters, however, I would be a perfect candidate for your nanny position given my experience with kids and my dedication to making their lives better.
