Results-oriented, detailed worker with experience as a Certified Nurse's Aide for over a year. My certification included working closely with the RN while receiving my training over a 12 month period. Once certified, I worked in Glen Bernie, MD caring for a patient and providing live-in assistance for a senior citizen. As a live-in care giver to a senior citizen, my responsibilities included assisting the patient with personal hygiene (including bathing, dressing and feeding), driving to appointments, accompanying her to doctor's visits, shopping for supplies and food, cleaning the house, and administering prescribed and over the counter medications. I have 2 years experience as a home daycare professional, where I supervised and cared for children, ages infant to kindergarten. I also have experience as the Children's Librarian for Huachuca City, where I organized the community reading program for children in Huachuca City and surrounding areas. My first real job after Read more high school was as a Certified Nurse's Aide and I have spent years trying to find a job that is as rewarding as being a caregiver. The relationships that you build and the bonds that you create cannot be compared to any other type of employment, and when you truly care for the ones that are entrusted to you, they are no longer just a person in your charge, they become a part of your family. I have always had the innate empathy to befriend the lonely, shelter the homeless and to share with the less fortunate. Coming from a large family, it is second nature for me to entertain children, look to their safety and tend to their needs. When you love what you do, it no longer feels like a job, it becomes a commitment to excellence, and I love being a caregiver.
