Meet Maggie

I am the oldest of 5 children. I have a very large immediate and extended family. I have been babysitting since before I was ten years old. I am now 18, almost 19. More importantly, I am CPR/AED certified. I have been working in a day care center for up to four years. I have watched children from age newborn to 12 years. In high school, I was a teacher assistant in the preschool classroom. I believe that children provide a different kind of magic that is sometimes lost in the trials and stresses of life. Because of this, I became a babysitter and mentor, because being around children truly helps me retrieve the confidence and light that I sometimes lose with becoming an adult. I believe that all children are special, and that the opportunities that come from watching, playing, and befriending a child are spectacular and worthwhile. I Read more also want to make an impact in a child's life. I believe it is extremely important to play a solid role in a child's life. Friend or mentor, I believe a child deserves and needs someone besides their parents to turn to when times get hard while they are growing up; or simply another shoulder to lean on and trust. Having someone that is always willing to listen and provide support is key in helping to provide a child with crucial components in the equation of life. Finally, I became a nanny/babysitter because I eventually want to teach when I graduate college. I may not want to teach younger children, but I do want to make an impact in lives that may be troubled or simply at a standstill
