I began sitting in high school, 11 years ago, and have continued to work as a caregiver off and on since that time because I really enjoy my work as a sitter. I enjoy interacting with the children and try to bring craft projects or toys along with me on my sits. As enjoyable as sitting is, it is not something that I take lightly. I know that I am responsible for your child(ren)'s safety and am Adult/Child CPR certified. I have had experience working with children 6 months to 9 years. I also recently returned from Zambia, where I was volunteering for the Peace Corps as a Community Health Extension Agent, many of my projects involved children. I taught about a variety of health topics in school (general hygiene, first aid, nutrition, etc.). I also taught an after school group basic math and English literacy skills.

Heidi has watched my two young boys (3 years & 15 months) and they really respond to her style. She's very comfortable getting on the floor to interact and engage the kids. My 15 month old, who typically has separation issues when I leave, just sits contentedly in her lap when I say goodbye! Heidi is thoughtful and respectful and I think her calm and friendly manner is wonderful for my kids (must be her Hawaiian roots!). She does have good references, so don't hesitate in hiring her! I would highly recommend her.
