I have always loved caring for kids; I started babysitting at 11 years old, I kept nursery at my church every Sunday until I graduated high school (often with over 15 children at a time), and I was the regular babysitter for multiple families in my hometown. The interactions with children of all ages fascinate me, and I get deep satisfaction from helping kids solve problems, discover themselves, and develop from one stage of life into the next. Life threw me a curveball at age 18, and I got cancer. I spent many weeks and months in a children's hospital receiving treatment, and my love for children deepened. Though I was unable to physically care for the other sick kids, I had the opportunity to reach out to, relate to, play with, and love on so many sweet babies. After medicinal treatments stopped working for me, I took a holistic Read more approach to my health, and my cancer stopped growing. I am now 9 months cancer-free and counting. I am committed to natural, whole-body health myself and to helping others understand the importance of health themselves. I have also had the opportunity to work with children as a photographer. My husband and I got married in May of 2016. We both took time out of school when I was sick, but he is starting back to school in the fall, and I am looking for a full-time position as a nanny. I am comfortable with and open to caring for pets along with children. We have two dogs ourselves, and we love them like family. I have a basic life support (BLS) certification.
