Hello! My name is Karla Corona and I am a full-time nursing student as well as a part time nanny to a wonderful family. As such, I am actively seeking to commit to either an early morning/ evening/ or weekend position with a guaranteed minimum of 5-10 hours per week as a nanny/babysitter. I have had nearly 9 years of both paid and non-paid experience in caring for children ranging from 0 months-17 years of age, including children with special needs. I have an extensive background in working with preschool and elementary school-aged children, and have also worked as a volunteer with children of special needs at Beverly Hills High School. I have worked for entertainment executives and at various educational institutions throughout the Beverly Hills and San Fernando Valley areas, where I have gained tremendous levels of experience. As a babysitter, I have maintained a safe environment by allowing only authorized persons near the children under my care, and have created positive childcare climates. When caring for children, I particularly focus on encouraging outdoor games and activities and/or crafts. I am an expert at avoiding conflict situations and do my best to nurture a child's self-esteem. My responsibilities as a nanny have included (but are not limited to) preparing and serving freshly made meals to children, bathing and dressing children, and actively engaging in a child's daily activities. I have often done laundry and tidied the children's rooms and play areas. I enjoy actively engaging children in both indoor and outdoor activities in order to promote their gross/fine motor skills while keeping a watchful eye. Overall, I have always loved caring for children, and plan to someday become a a pediatric nurse.
