My very first job I had was taking care of my younger brother when he was born; I am a middle child of three, and my older sister and I watched over my brother growing up. My favorite memories of helping my mom was tucking my brother in bed and making up bedtime stories to keep him entertained and have imaginative dreams as he slept. I began the experience with children seeing my brother grow up and understanding a child's development; they are smart, picking up every action portrayed by adults and the surroundings. It is very serious to me to become an example of someone who tells the truth, who is kind, and loving. I began babysitting when I was 14, watching a 2 year old and a 3 month old. I went twice a week to a neighbor's house for three hours and babysat her two daughters. This Read more was during the school year and lasted for 3-4 months. I grew up in a Christian home, so my parents hosted an adult bible study during the time my sister was going to college, so she moved out. I watched a group of children between 5-10 once a week for 2 hours each time. I would be firm with the children, being direct with rules, and placing time out if necessary to settle any conflict or rough-housing. During high school, I continued picking up time to watch kids while the parents went out to dinner/dates. I learned to change diapers, interact with sports, and watched the pets at the house. Ever since high school, I haven't babysat for a couple years, but I do miss it. I went to college for a year and half in Phoenix, meeting many people and gaining much experience in the workforce of customer service, office employment, and retail work. I took health classes and I had CPR certification (which I need to renew). I know how to swim, so I can supervise for any poolside activities.
