*7 years experience as a babysitter, nanny, and preschool assistant *Livescan fingerprinted *Adult/Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (renewing 1/3/15) *Completed 15hr health and safety class *12 units of Early Childhood Education, including infant/toddler class *Vaccinated *Negative TB *Attended Cal, plan to go back 1/2016 *Available starting 1/14/15, with time to interview earlier *Safe driver, drives a Prius *Non-smoker *Great references *Rates: 20-25 for 1, 22-28 for 2, 25-30 for 3, 28-32 for 4. I'm a bay area native. My family moved to San Diego when I was 10 and I came back to the bay for college. I did a lot of babysitting in high school, and worked as a nanny over the summers, getting my start in the nanny world working with family friends. I worked at one of the UC Berkeley preschools, in the 2-year-old room. There, I learned a lot about working with children, including the art of putting Read more 16 2-year-olds down for a nap. I ended up leaving school for a variety of reasons, including financial difficulty. This meant I was ineligible to work at the preschool, so I found a wonderful job working as a nanny with a family I met at the preschool. I've worked a few short-term nanny jobs, and now I'm at the point where I'd like something long-term. I will be in the Menlo Park area for another year, and would love to make a year-long commitment to a job at this time. My plan is to go back to school, and I will be taking online classes in Child Development in 2015. I prefer to work part-time, around 20 hours per week. Strengths: I love spending time outside, playing imaginatively, making art, singing to children, and reading books. My schedule is flexible. I'm loving, attentive, sensitive, and patient. I'm experienced in what I do and continue to improve and learn. I take feedback well. I absolutely love being a nanny and love children. I have a good sense of judgment, and catch on quickly. I love developing little traditions between me and the children I care for, which helps children bond and feel comfortable with me. I spend time on the floor with children, and enter into their world rather than insisting they need to be in my world all the time. Potential weaknesses: I am completely hopeless at operating tvs. Not a great cook though I cook enough to get by. I only speak English, I'm lousy at sports, and my sister stole all the musical talent in the family. Please note that I strongly prefer to work with young children. Thanks!

We hired Haley through this site to take care of our daughter (who went from 1.5 to 2 years old during the period in question) while we worked. She came in for about 15-20 hours a week on a regular routine, and sporadically in the evenings. We've hired a number of babysitters and part-time nannies (we've had to travel a fair amount), and Haley has been one of the best. Haley was completely trustworthy, very reliable, and had a wonderful manner with our daughter. She is very patient, quite inventive about planning activities, and is warm and affectionate. Our daughter was extremely comfortable with her, and so were we. I can't recommend her highly enough --- if you have the opportunity to hire her, you should.
