Hi parents! I am a nanny with ten years of experience. I am a firm believer in respect for children. I love creating a space where infants and toddlers can safely explore, grow, and learn about their world. I also love following along with older kids' adventures, learning with them, and helping them learn whatever it is they want to learn. I believe in gentle care with strong boundaries. I am heavily influenced by RIE (I've completed the RIE Nurturing Nanny course), Respectful/Gentle parenting, and developmentally appropriate practice, and always willing to learn about new care-taking philosophies. I am I value social justice, anti-racism, and compassion--and I will always model those values for children in my care. I have a degree in English from UCLA and in the course of my undergrad I took two child development courses.

Maria was our nanny for a little over a year (and still would be had we not relocated!) She helped us transition from 1 child to 2 with ease. Maria truly cares about early childhood development and our sons emotional and social growth definitely benefitted. She’s so sweet and tailors play and activities to his interest. Any family would be truly lucky to have Maria care for their children. Mine lit up everyday she walked in the door.

Maria is the best! My daughter loves her! She has been caring for my daughter for 2.5 years now from ages 15 months to almost 4 years old. Maria is completely reliable, responsible, punctual, and trustworthy. She is engaging and truly enjoys being with children, and connects with them. Maria has the ideal combination of years of experience and youthful energy. She knows how to hold boundaries firmly and empathetically, and hold and respond to kids’ big feelings.
