I started out as a mother's helper at the age of 12, since then I went from mother's helper to babysitter to substitute teacher/caregiver at daycare/kindergarten and after school care. In these facilities I gained experinece, working with kids ranging from 6 weeks to 13 years old. Currently I work at a yoga center at the daycare department, 4 mornings a week. I like doing crafts, reading books and being active with the kids. I am always interested in what kids have to say and how they perceive the world. I am athletic and I prefer healthy foods, but I adjust to the family's ways. I find it important to see how the parents treat their children so that I can work with their rules and habits.
I would like to add that on weekends, I work for www.partyanimals4kids.com. I show up at kids' birtdayparties, dressed up as Cinderella, Snow white, Tinkerbell and other characters. Groups range from 5 to over 30. I need to engage the kids in games and make sure they all have a good time, in character! It's so much fun!
