I live in Echo Park and love being outside! I graduated from college with a BA in Creative Writing and a focus in poetry. I am a vegetarian and feel comfortable and excited about any cooking task at hand. My philosophy for child play has been influenced by my experience and my education. I studied American Sign Language for 4 years, excelled in Early Childhood Education courses in college, and experienced many fascinating and enriching aspects in the daily life of children's own explorations. I believe the best way to facilitate growth and development in children, is to find the perfect balance of lessons (every moment can be a teaching moment), and subtle supervision (when a child can explore the wonders of the world on their own). I am very interested in how different families have grown and nourished these spaces and am always an avid listener and learner in Read more new and effective child care philosophies and strategies. I have experience working with children in many facets from classroom learning to home care to summer camp expeditions. I find that working with all ages is invigorating and enriching. I am constantly being taught simple yet sophisticated lessons from children I work with. Right now, I am in a graduate degree program on my way to being a Speech Therapist. This will be a big step in combining my passion for language and my enthusiasm for childhood development in one incredible career opportunity! Until then, I am looking for the perfect family to spend my days feeling silly, nurturing, fulfilled, and all-around enthused about this world we live in!
