I have always loved working with children and students. I am an Applied Math Major at UC Berkeley, but don't worry folks, I still love to have fun! My general philosophy with childcare is to keep children mentally and physically stimulated while still having a fun time. My first professional experience working with children was last year in a preschool classroom as a Team Leader for Jumpstart, a non profit organization that helps to ensure children enter preschool prepared with literacy, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. I have also had experience looking after some of my 20 plus cousins over many years. My most recent private babysitting position was for two children on a temporary contract; some of the responsibilities involved: Waking children, preparing breakfast and lunch, creating a schedule so that the children have structure and forecast of the days activities, running errands for the family, taking the children Read more to the library, park, scandia, etc., limiting the amount of technology/T.V. time per day, and ensuring that the children made it to there lessons and camps on time and prepared. I AM NOT THE BABYSITTER WHO JUST SITS ON THE COUCH TEXTING AND LETTING THE CHILDREN ENTERTAIN THEMSELVES!! I always treat each family, home, and child with patience and respect. I am an active participant and you can be sure that when I am with your children I am present and focused. Whether it be reading with your children, making art projects, running around outside, or having them help with making snacks! I apply the skills I have learned in many years of experience. Most importantly I love working with children and hope to be an educator in the next few years. I look forward to meeting with you and your family to see if I am a good fit!
