I have a lot of varied experience when it comes to childcare. I've taken care of newborns, toddlers, children and children with developmental disabilities. I've learn to become more calm, patient, and understanding as a result. I love getting to assist in enriching their lives and developing a relationship with the families I get to know. While I was in college I worked with a company that connected me to families with children with developmental disabilities; the goal being not just to be a babysitter of sorts, but to also work on improving different skills and areas to help enrich their lives. This could be extremely challenging at times, the range and functioning of the kids varied greatly but it was extremely rewarding. I've been around/worked with kids and babies essentially my whole life. I'm the eldest in a big bunch of kids (seven siblings!!) and most are significantly younger Read more than myself. I naturally became the big sister babysitter/caregiver when needed and because I love the heck out of them. I do have a job at the moment at a restaurant, but it's only in the evenings and I'm willing to adapt my schedule there around nannying since it's much more fulfilling to me.
