My love for working with children began as I spent time in my Mother's deaf and hard of hearing classrooms. I took my first nanny position when I was 17; the kiddos were 3 months and 2 years. I then began pursing my ECE credits as I concurrently ran the childcare center at an upscale wellness center. I was blessed with my own son in my early twenties, and continued to nanny for several more years, most recently from 2010-2014 for newborn infants and their 2 years older sister. As I transitioned into single motherhood it became necessary for me to pursue more stable and full time employment, though my deep love for caring for little ones and their families has been calling me back to a career in childcare. I believe that my role as a nanny is primarily to care for the child entrusted to me through enhancing Read more their daily experiences with nature walks, age appropriate educational activities & outings, lots of reading and singing, etc, however caring for the family unit is also important. I believe that supporting busy parents through meal prep, laundry, and light housekeeping supports the child/children. I know first hand what it is like to be a busy working parent, and how precious those moments at home with our kids are. My son is now a freshman at Bear River High School, so my schedule does need to accommodate my role as Mom, as well.
