My name is Rachel Roberts and I enjoy working with children. Since 2010, I have volunteered with children, making it a goal to gain experience and spend time with them. In 2010 I volunteered at a homework club, but from 2009 onward as a part of my high school American Sign Language class I would spend a few months out of the year spending time with children of deaf adults; providing snacks and activities to keep them occupied as their parents participated in a parenting class--also as a volunteer. The summer of 2012 and 2013 I got my first job working for The City of Fremont as a recreational aid. I planned the curriculum, led activities, and supervised the children. From 2012-2014 I worked at Children's Fairyland in Oakland. I enjoyed Fairyland because it was such a treat to be a part of brightening individual families days, and I loved Read more waving and high fiving the little ones as they got on and off the rides. In October 2014 I began working at my at Hortensia's Way preschool. I enjoyed working at a preschool because I got to work with a variety of children and I got to not only see them grow up, but play an integral part in seeing them grow and learn intellectually. I am 27 and I am both an artist and a writer. I attended California College of the Arts in Oakland for two years before I decided to pursue other avenues of education. I have nine early childhood education units. Since COVID began I have been working as a nanny and in home educator, and I also have experience transporting children to school in the mornings. My experience makes me more than qualified to care for your child, and I am happy to supply ones with references and past reviews (from care.com)!
