Hello, my name is Yesenia Vasquez, I am 24 years old, I am bilingual (speaking both English and Spanish fluently) a non-smoker with a clean driving record, an enormous animal lover, energetic, fun-loving, and overall an easy going person. I am new to the Mendocino Coast area, recently moving from the East Bay close to 6 months ago after graduating from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Studio Art/ Art History and a minor in Latina/o studies. Working with children has always been a passion of mine. I began volunteering with elementary aged children when I began high school and as soon as I graduated I started working for various summer camps then moved my way to working for the Hayward Unified School District as an after school program leader for Y.E.P (Youth Enrichment Program). I was in charge of different activities, from putting preschoolers to sleep for nap time to supervising teens. Working for the school district I had the opportunity of working in my own classroom where I lead various activities both educational and extracurricular (creating lesson plans based on math, science, ELA, art, and physical activities) aside from helping them with their homework and studying. My current job since moving to the coast has been for the Fort Bragg Unified School District as a Bilingual Instructional Aide, where I am able to assist teachers both in and out of the classroom. I have the lovely responsibility of working one on one with Spanish speaking students as well as helping others throughout the school. I have always done my best to put each student first.
