Sylvia C.

Sylvia was our son's nanny for 18 months (age 6 months - 2 years). We trusted her completely with his care. From her first days with our family, she went above and beyond what was expected of her. She has always prepared his food, steaming and pureeing vegetables and fruit when he started solids and continuing the fresh food preparation as he grew. She always prepared extra to last us through the weekend. He has excellent eating habits with her (and ate better with her than with us!) She kept a loose "schedule" for him that kept him moving and engaged. They went to the park daily and met up with other nannies and children so our son had a group of friends. Other activities included going to the bookstore and library story time and going for walks. In our home, she read to him, played with puzzles and encouraged learning. She spoke primarily Spanish to him and it is clear that he understands her. He has several Spanish words. During our son's nap time, Sylvia helped around the house, sweeping floors, tidying the kitchen and bedrooms and doing laundry for the whole family. This was not required of her, but very appreciated. We loved having Sylvia as part of our family and would have continued to work with her if not for a job loss for me. She will be a wonderful addition to your family and wonderful caregiver to your child(ren).
