I am currently in a teaching credentials program at CSU Dominguez Hills. I plan to become a special education teacher for preschool aged children when I've finished my program, and I'm seeking part-time work in the meantime to supplement my income while I'm in school. I also hope to use sittercity.com as an opportunity to build my resume.
I have seven nieces and nephews who live on the east coast, including two children with special needs. I helped my sisters to care for them for several years before moving to California, and my experience lead to my desire to become a special education teacher.
I also currently volunteer at a local non-profit organization for at-risk youth in the Watts neighborhood called Mama Hill's Help, which provides after school programs and services to children ages 5 to 17. You can learn more about the work we do at mamahillshelp.org.
I have a special place in my heart for children with special needs, and I firmly believe that if you set high expectations for any child, they will rise to meet the challenge.
I have completed a live scan (fingerprint background check) and I am certified in infant, child and adult CPR.
