I discovered how much I loved taking care of children when I volunteered at an orphanage in Peru for three weeks in 2009. After,I returned to Peru the following three summers to volunteer at another orphanage. There, I helped take care of about 20 children ages 2months to 12years old every day for a month. I loved helping children so much I started volunteering at Choc Children's Hospital in 2011. I volunteered for 7 months until I had to leave for college.I wanted to continue helping children so I began to volunteer at Diamond Children's Hospital in the hematology/oncology unit. I have volunteered now for a year and will continue volunteering. At both hospitals I played with the patients and their sibling to give their parents a break. I have also volunteered at Casa de los Ninos, a crisis shelter for abused and neglected children , for 6 months. There, Read more I helped take care of 5 children ages 1 to 2 every Sunday. All of my experiences taking care of and playing with children have taught me the skills necessary to be an excellent nanny. I am also extremely kind, loving, and fun. I love to be goofy and active and strive to make sure kids are happy while at the same time providing structure and discipline.
