I have lived in Orange County since 1983. I have been married for 28 years, have one grown daughter, and a granddaughter. I have taken care of children as a career since I retired from corporate America in 1999. I have found taking care of children to be the most rewarding career there is. I have also been a medical assistant for ten years, and have a strong background in first aid. I enjoy taking care of children of all ages, and really don't have a favorite age. I enjoy sitting down with a child and their homework packet and coaching them with lots of positive reinforcement. I am extremely athletic, and enjoy active games like baseball, soccer, and golf with the children. I am the granny who does cartwheels. I have been a figure skater for almost three decades, and I still skate regularly. I have practiced yoga since my teens, and have Read more taught my charges yoga stretching and breathing. My philosophy of child care is "safety first". When I am at the park with a young child who is climbing on the jungle gym, I don't watch them from the ground. I stay right next to them and act like a spotter, ever ready to prevent a fall. Taking care of other people's children is a job I take very seriously. Although I am a fun-loving person, I am an extremely responsible and mature adult with good judgment in any situation. I am an avid animal lover, and will give lots of love and attention to the family pet as well as the children.
