Hi ! My name is Mary Nesbit ! I am a disciple for Jesus Christ of five years and a few months and such an ‘Old Soul’ ! Lol ! I have been nanny-ing and caregiving for a total of a combined 12 years. My first job was as an assistant nanny at 15 years old. I started officially nanny-ing when I was 19 years old and Caregiving overnight when I was 22 years old. I recently transferred to Cal State Dominguez Hills and finishing up to receive my degree in Child Development and my CNA Certificate. I never seen myself wanting to be a nanny or caregiver and pursue a career of being a kindergarten teacher. I initially wanted to be a novelist, I love writing ! I am known to spend a lot of time with my mom’s aunts and uncles as well as her mom (my grammy). I learn so much from them and about their history which so awesome ! It is a privilege to me care for the elderly. The children are so funny, they keep you busy and guessing because they know so much ! I primarily nanny for families of two, five years and under. And many of them are infants. I like to take the kids out of the house sometimes to play or even sight see but only under their parents’ wishes because I don’t think it’s fair to keep the children inside the house the whole day. I pick up the children from school and take them to do activities. Keep them active. Same goes for the elderly, I take them to their doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, to see their friends, put together lunches and or dinners for them and their friends. I get them out for fresh air as well. I monitor them closely. All this is how I got my nickname, Miss Mary or as the toddlers say, Miss May. But I love what I do and currently I am out of work and looking for work.
