I have been working with children since I was old enough to babysit! Between working at a daycare, day camps, after school programs, and most recently as a kindergarten teacher for over 2 years, my experience with children is vast and varied. I recently left teaching due to a job relocation for my husband, and we love living in LA! I look forward to the opportunity to work directly with a family and to share my love for and experience with children. I am a licensed teacher in Minnesota, with a license to teach kindergarten through 6th grade, and 5th-8th grade math. I have taught middle school math, 2nd-4th grade reading, and most recently kindergarten. While teaching is the bulk of my experience, I believe I bring a strong set of skills to the nanny position. I am skilled at working with many children at once, while attending to each Read more child's needs. I also am a great multi-tasker and enjoy keeping busy. Which means I am happy to help out with cleaning, cooking, errands, etc. when appropriate. The strongest skill I believe I bring is my knowledge of what a child needs socially, emotionally, and academically as they head into kindergarten. If you are interested in a nanny that can help prepare your child for school, no matter what age they are at, I believe I can be a great asset! Last summer, I did spend one day a week nannying for a wonderful family with two girls ages 4 and 7. We had a blast playing outside, cooking together, and going to museums! And a little about me - I've spent almost my whole life in the snowy but beautiful Northern Minnesota. Needless to say, my husband and I love the California weather! When we aren't out exploring this exciting new city, my favorite thing to do is cook. We also love our little baby, our 4 year old chocolate lab Rudy. So if you have pets, not only would I be happy to help out with them, I would love to! I truly look forward to getting to know you and your children!
