I began babysitting when I was 13, and cared for infants through ten year olds until I was 18. During this time I also occasionally worked in the daycares of my church and a local fitness center. As an adult, I have often cared for the small children of friends. I have a background in figure skating, and recently worked as a coach at the Plymouth Ice Center in Minnesota, just prior to moving to Los Angeles. I taught group and private lessons for two sessions, with group lessons consisting of 5-10 students. My youngest students were four years old. In private lessons, I taught a four year old autistic boy, as well as a ten year old developmentally disabled girl for whom I choreographed a routine for a Special Olympics show. She and I performed the routine together as a duo. I have a BA degree, and while in Read more college I began work as a veterinary assistant. I trained on the job to become a veterinary technician, and have a total of 5 years in the field. I also have volunteer experience caring for wildlife at a Minnesota wildlife rehabilitation center. I love animals and am a loving and competent caregiver. Most recently I ran playgroups for a Minneapolis dog obedience center. I have basic first aid training, and know the Heimlich maneuver and CPR. I am competent, reliable, respectful, and responsible, but I'm also fun and great at engaging children. I am a writer and write stories both for kids and adults. One of my favorite activities is reading to kids! I studied science and language heavily in school, and am a fantastic homework resource, and previously volunteered as a homework helper at a Minneapolis library.
