Hello! I have over four years' experience working with children ages 6 months to five years with most of my training in infant/toddler early education. I have worked as a teacher in a progressive early childhood education center with classes of 4-16 children (http://www.growingseeds.net) and one-on-one with individual families. That said, I don't fit the profile of a lot of nannys. I'm a 27-year-old male person who spends his free time playing in bands and making art. And that's what I look like. I graduated from Bennington College with a degree in literature and I've since took classes in early childhood development in Portland, OR, where I grew up and spent most of my adult life so far. So if you want a male influence for your kid(s) I'm your guy. I'm very kind and patient with children but my style is also very direct. I come to kids on Read more their own terms and basically treat them like the little people they are by respecting them, listening to them and setting clear boundaries. And, of course, I love kids. I see helping them develop into cool people as helping insure a better future for everyone. So I take it seriously. I'm looking for a part-time arrangement ideally with some flexibility, which goes both ways (ie. I can work full-time some weeks but some weeks I will need off - with plenty of notice, of course). And I'm looking for cool people! So if you think I could fit into your family dynamic give me a call!
