I am 21 years old and I live in Long Island City. I moved to the city from Arkansas, where I have lived for the past 5 years. I am originally from South Africa. Before moving, I was Pre-school teacher for 12-18 month olds. I was responsible for up to 6 kids during the day, including changing and feeding, as well as daily enrichment and forming skills important for early childhood development. My parents were greatly involved with child care throughout my entire life, including foster care and running a church nursery. Because of them, I gained a great deal of hands-on child care experience from a very young age and I learned the value of enriching a child's life through patience, love, and understanding. I have experience working in nursery centers, as well as years of babysitting. I was a certified lifeguard for 4 years.
