Objective To obtain a “Babysitting Position" in the Marietta, GA area. I would like a job that will allow me to work with a child or a small group of children in-order to use my caring and teaching skills and abilities. Highlights Library Science and education has been my background for the past 20 years. Honesty, consistency, and hard work are the best qualities I possess. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Cleveland State University. I also studied for a period of time for a post-baccalaureate degree to become a k-3rd grade Teacher/Intervention Specialist at Notre Dame College. This past year, I worked in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District as a Long Term Substitute Teacher. My main assignments were to teach reading intervention to the pre-k-8 classes, and to provide library services to them as well. Some of my classes occupied exsclusively children with disabilities, such as mrdd, Read more autism, or down syndrome. Prior to working at Cleveland Metro Schools, I was a Title I Teacher, at the Cleveland Arts & Social Science Academy. I also worked at the Cleveland Public Library for nine years as a Page, Clerk and Librarian Assistant. At the Cleveland Arts Academy, I worked with children from grade level kindergarten- 8th grade. There were three main jobs that I was responsible for, under my job title: I assisted special education students on a daily basis (students with academic and/or behavior challenges). I have assisted slow learners, children with adhd, down’s syndrome, and autism. I assisted with testing the academic levels of potential new students, and I assessed first graders reading/vocabulary comprehension levels. Another job I had was to substitute teach, when one of our teacher’s were out. I instructed their class, until their return. I also assisted a first grade teacher with her class a few times out of a week. I once was a Children’s Librarian at Imani Institute Leadership School for 6 months. I was also an employee at the Cleveland Public Library for 9 years. I have experience in research, and computer experience in Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, E-mail, and Internet. I am very familiar and use the many different (CPL) commercial databases ex, Worldcat, Psychfirst, Eric, Newspaper Abstracts, Proquest, Datatimes, Infotrac, etc.
