Hello! My name is Kate Knudsen and I'm so excited about the prospect of working as a nanny. Upon graduating from The University of Oregon (GO DUCKS!) in 2014, I promptly moved to sunny southern Cal to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. While I have enjoyed the jobs I've held within that field over the past two years, I would love to explore other career avenues, specifically, working with children. Starting at the age of 13, I became an avid babysitter as well as camp counselor for children of all ages. While these jobs were difficult at times, they came easily to me and turned out to be extremely rewarding. It is incredible to see the impact you can have on a child's life. In addition to babysitting all throughout middle school, high school, and college, I regularly volunteered at my church’s nursery where I worked with both Read more infants and toddlers. I have spent the last three months as a nanny for an 11 month old and I can honestly say, it has been nothing short of amazing. Unfortunately, she and her family are moving, but with this experience I now know that I really do love nannying. I am a fast learner, I take initiative, I'm enthusiastic, but most of all, I absolutely love children. Children live their lives entirely in the moment, unfettered by worry or stress and I think it is this quality that makes them such a joy to work with. They are only concentrating on the matter at hand which makes it imperative that you do as well. Playing, reading, taking walks, playing games, these are all incredibly important to the growth of children and I would love to be a positive force in your child's (children's) life.

Kate has been an amazing addition to our family! We have an 11 month old and Kate is absolutely wonderful with her. She has a great hands on approach - getting down on her level to play, going for walks and giving her more love than we ever could have asked for. The most difficult thing for me when I had to go back to work was to find someone that I could trust, Kate is that person. I don't worry for one moment when my daughter is with Kate. Our situation has changed and we don't need as much help. We will be sad to see Kate less! Our loss will be another family's gain. I highly recommend her!
