Hi families, I am looking forward to meeting you! Caring for children has always come easy for me. I am the oldest in a large family and grew up "playing mom". By the time I was 12 years old I was babysitting for family friends and so naturally my first job in high school was nannying (the 90's times were so different!). When I went off to college I studied child development while working at a grocery store... not as fun! Just a few months into my "grown up job" bagging groceries I decided that I was better with children and had more fun with them too! I stuck with nannying all through undergrad and graduate school. I ended up majoring in Social Work and did get a real grown up job that I LOVE as a psychotherapist, which I have been doing for several years now. I remain in Read more touch with most of the families I have worked for and many of them are now considered family. So, if you LOVE your job as a psychotherapist why are you looking to nanny you may ask? Great question- the short of it is, I will be moving to China in the Fall and had to close my practice. I would be happy to tell you more about it when we meet. It is a very exciting time. Some of the things I love about being with children and caring for them include: their imagination can take me places long forgot, their emotion is raw and I think that is beautiful. The love is so pure; I remember how to play; the snuggles are the very best; and babies falling asleep on your chest is heaven. Looking forward to meeting you soon, Ashley
