Greetings! My name is Caitlin, I recently moved to LA from Chicago, and I love to babysit. I'm a writer and comedian, my biggest credit to date was entertaining for The Second City Chicago on a cruise ship last year. I have a cat named Hide, who is my sunshine. I like to ride my bike and read. Currently I'm going through the Harry Potter books again. My favorite movies are Star Wars (the old ones), but I like the new ones too. I live in Echo Park, have a library card, and I am a part-time barista at The Upright Citizens Brigade on Sunset. When I was in Chicago I worked for a family and their friends for 4 consecutive years. My duties included transportation, early morning arrival during the summer months, facilitating activities and adventures (including baking, going on walks and riding bikes to libraries, the zoo, and Read more other kid-friendly locations, playing games like LEGOS, dolls, soccer, you name it). And, of course, lots of giggling. In my experience I have cared for babies that are a year old, toddlers who are 2-4, and children ages 6-13. I also spent 4 years as a camp counselor at sleep-away camps through Texas Tech University called, "Science, It's a Girl Thing" and, "Shake Hands With Your Future" where I was in charge of 7-15 kids at a time, 24 hours a day. I like working with kids because their minds are fascinating. I love the questions they ask, I love their imaginations, and their sense of play. I'm not one of those babysitters who wants to sit on the couch and watch TV all day, I love to play and be active and build a world with kids. I have been babysitting casually since I was a teenager, and once I started babysitting as an adult in Chicago more and more child care opportunities came into my periphery. I gravitated to babysitting jobs rather than other jobs because I enjoy the sense of responsibility that comes with caring for a child. It's very serious work, making sure that the most precious thing to a parent is safe and well, all the while facilitating fun and encouraging learning. It's a job I'm good at, and one that I love to do. I do have a car. I know how to swim and have swum with the kids I used to babysit. I love pets of all kinds, and I know how to cook and prepare yummy and nutritional food. I don't smoke, and I don't have my CPR certification yet, but would be happy to take a class. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I look forward to meeting you and your family! Caitlin
