After 10+ years of experience as a babysitter, nanny, swim instructor, tutor, day and overnight camp counselor, I am now a Marriage and Family Therapy associate working with children and families. As an associate I am in the process for the next few years of earning hours and hands-on experience in my field to obtain licensure. Leading a learning pod is the ideal way to accompany my studies while my background and skill set make me uniquely qualified to create and foster a healthy and enriching learning environment. Since graduating from USC's Masters in MFT program in 2019, I’ve worked with the Department of Mental Health contracted agencies. Through my work in various settings including individual therapy for children and teens ages 5-18, play therapy, and nurturing parenting classes among others, I utilize my extensive knowledge of child development, attachment, therapeutic interventions and mindfulness to engage children and holistically support Read more well-being. Prior to my work as an MFT, I worked with children of all ages for over a decade. Most recently, as nanny to an infant from age 3-months to 1 year during my graduate program (she just turned 2 and I still babysit when our schedules align). I was also a nanny to two energetic boys, ages 3 & 6 for two years. They are now older, but I still keep in close touch with the family. I spent 6 summers working in day and overnight summer camps for children ages 5 to 12 years old. Through college, I was a part-time nanny for a few wonderful families. My work with these families always included homework help across all elementary standard curriculum alongside supporting age appropriate learning and play. I love children and finding ways to make things fun for them. In this new time of online learning and social/physical distancing, things have changed for kids just as much as they have for parents. Their worlds have become smaller and screen-time has become more frequent, but still they are always listening and learning. Now more than ever, I feel it is crucial to foster children’s natural curiosity and allow exploration and engagement whenever possible to support not only academic, but also social and emotional development. I would love to create that space for your family.
