I've worked as a babysitter and nanny (for ages 4 weeks all the way up to 14 years!) for the past 10 years.
I'm 32, live in Los Feliz, have a great/safe/new/totally ballin' Prius and speak English (and a muy, muy pequeno bit of Spanish).
I'm looking for part-time or even occasional work, but my schedule is pretty darn flexible!
My real priority is to find a great family that I really click with and become your go-to girl for years to come.
The full lowdown:
My childcare philosophy is holistic - at all times I aim to satisfy the mental, physical and emotional needs of each child under my care. With an emphasis on interactive and stimulating play, days spent with your child are full, fun and focused. I strive to take on the schedules, practices and expectations implemented in your family's daily routine. Essentially, my job is to accomplish exactly what you would when you are not able to.
When it comes to disciplinary philosophy, I deal in terms of clearly outlined expectations with consequences of positive reinforcement for good behavior and consistent, age-appropriate punishments for bad behavior.
Stuff I do: diapers, baths, homework help, crafts, feedings, after-school chauffeur duties, naps, bottles, carseats, adventurous outings, potty-training, storytime, medications, lullabies, kid-friendly food and tweens.
Stuff I don't: physically punish, rely on the tv, manage your datebook, do litterboxes, force feed your children or arrive late.
My tried and true practices: the parent & caregiver check in/out, homemade playdough, living room obstacle courses, "cool-downs" for the number of minutes as years you are old, butterfly/turtle pb & j, superhero dress-up, getting outside, impromptu plays, giant bubbles and high fives.
