Hello, and thank you for your interest in my services. I am a 26 year old graduate student obtaining a degree in counseling and school psychology (MFT/PCC/PPS). I graduated in July 2015 from Southern New Hampshire University with a BA degree in child/adolescent psychology. I currently work during the school year as an instructional assistant under the special education department with Acalanes Union High School District. My personal, professional and academic experiences make me an ideal candidate to watch your child/children. I have been doing some form of child care since I was 12 years old. Before beginning my career with the school district, I was a private nanny, babysitter and tutor for over two years; I still have regular contacts that utilize me for date nights and the occasional school pick up. I have experience with all ages as well as various mental health/psychological and health conditions such as: Read more ADD/ADHD, ASD, depression, anxiety, allergies, chronic illness etc. I am a down-to-earth country girl who loves playing outside and exploring. I grew up in a grand time where there were few video games outside of arcades, so we had to use our imagination to play. I continue this tradition with the children I watch and encourage reading, outdoor play, puzzles, coloring and more. I understand that children today love their technology. While I am okay with technology, I would prefer those I am taking care of to watch educational programs or play educational games. As a psychology major, I encourage neural, emotional and social growth :-). I am comfortable with all animals. Spending many summers on my grandparents' farm as well as riding horses from the age of 3, I have grown very fond of animals. I have many tools and skills at my fingertips to help children with a variety of situations and issues. As an instructional aid, I am required to know all high school subjects and have the ability to rephrase problems for better understanding. I have worked with children on reading and comprehension, writing, math and general organization and study skills. The summer of 2015 was spent working at a psycho-therapeutic day camp that taught empathy, emotional awareness, social skills and cooperation. I pride myself in working with parents as a secondary support while I watch their child/children. I feel it is my responsibility to uphold any house rules and disciplinary actions. Please feel free to ask any questions for clarification.
