Hi parents- my name is Jamie Swegles and I'm currently heading into my 10th year working with children. A little background on me, I completed and excelled in an early childhood education and certification two year program. During this program I was to learn hands on and off all about childhood development and the workings of their young minds. Three of the five days we were an actual functioning pre school, with anywhere between 12-25 children on any given day. In rotation with the other students I would be responsible for an age appropriate lesson plan, craft, fine and gross motor skill craft/activity. The past 10 years I've been a full time educational, fun loving, active minded private nanny. I feel I excel in the line of work because of my ability to understand children on their level- validating a child who has their own feelings, emotions, thoughts, and ideas. Read more I enjoy working with families as opposed to a preschool because one think I learned is children learn differently not with the standardize curve. Being able to tap into a child's thought process and providing individual learning, creativity, and learning, I feel sets them up to succeed greatly in school and therefore later in life. My number one focus is that they are able to just be a kid, run, paint, yell, play, make funny jokes, and every other thing we loose growing up, because time flys and you're only a kid once.
