- Comfortable with pets
I have been working as a sitter/nanny for 10 years. My experience spans infant to teen age ranges, for everything from the occasional date night to regular, long term care. I have experience caring for up to six children at once on my own and up to 15 children with a co-sitter. In addition to standard child care, I also cook, clean, do laundry, am great with pets, and have tutoring experience to help with frustrating homework snafus. I am an extremely easy going, patient person. I don't believe in time out, but do advocate "cool down breaks" and then talking about actions, consequences, and how to better care for one another and take responsibility for our actions. Standard day to day care usually involves lots of outside time and lots of creative/investigative play. I am a big fan of everything from library trips and visiting the museum to just Read more heading out around the corner to the local soccer field to practice for next week's game. More than anything, my main goal as a caregiver is to listen to the children I'm with and provide them with support and encouragement as they learn and explore.
