Hello! My name is Julie Carrillo and I'm here to help! I hail from Riverton Utah, a small suburb south of Salt Lake City, where I grew up in a family of 7! There I watched the neighborhood kids, took care of my younger siblings as my "summer job" (I'm the middle of 5) and managed large groups of children in the local community theatre productions! Basically, being with kids comes naturally to me! I recently finished nannying a sweet girl and I'm looking for a new family! Her mother was in town filming and they needed temporary help during the day. I had met them through the daycare I previously worked at. The Love School formerly Mother Nature's Play Garden in Topanga Canyon is a nature based Waldorf inspired daycare. We'd regularly paint big murals that took weeks of dedication to create and cook healthy diet sensitive friendly organic Read more food! We'd hike through Red Rock Canyon Park and splash in the creek when it was full. Once a week we'd ride ponies and play with Percy the pig and Coco and Peanut the goats. Daily we'd dance, play instruments, sing, fall down, cry it out, kiss boo boo's, have accidents in pants, laugh about it, clean it up together, read books, talk about adventures, GO on adventures and of course LOVE each other! Unfortunately the owners' financial situation and an unexpected need to relocate left no money for extra staff. There, I was with 5-15 kids M-F from 6 months to 6 years old. I'm hoping wherever I end up, I can bring as much of what I learned with me! I found this daycare through the little girl I was nannying at the time. I started with her at 6 months and stayed with her work from home parents for 2 years when the opportunity to transition into the school came along. There, I prepped meals, did dishes, laundry, grocery shopping, errands, picked up, organized, assisted the parents and managed house hold issues when necessary in addition to taking care of the baby! Due to my “can do” attitude, flexibility, ability to take direction and initiative and my mother’s words forever echoing in my head “leave the place better than you found it!” I sometimes find myself taking on more than is sustainable long term. Although I’m very capable of doing everything mentioned, I will have to consider my rate and the work load before accepting a job where this is required in addition to childcare. All of that being said, I prefer to have the kids be the focus of the job! If you have any questions, please as
