I am an energetic, warm, and nurturing woman who loves being around kids. I am very active by nature and I take great pleasure in engaging with children and in helping them to discover the simple joys of the world around them. I grew up with many children and families around me all the time and was raised in a culture where "it takes a village" is a guiding principle. I have lots of experience caring for children, and I believe very much that it takes much more than being just a "babysitter". I have been a live-in nanny in the US (San Francisco, San Mateo, and Alamo/Walnut Creek) for 4 years, with two different families, and with children ranging from several months old through 14 years old. Fatou has been babysitting for our daughter for the past three years. She is very natural with children and our daughter instantly felt comfortable with her as a toddler, and still does now that she's older. We especially appreciate that Fatou has been very conscientious about our daughter's food allergies and that she is very reliable--even when we've had to ask her to come at 6am due to my work schedule, I can count on her to be there. She is also great when we go on date nights and always manages to tuck my daughter into bed so that she's sound asleep by the time we get home. We are so lucky to have Fatou in our lives and even though I selfishly haven't posted a review until now, I hope that this will help you feel more comfortable having Fatou take care of your child.
