Hello! My name is Melissa. I'm 31 years old, married, and have been a professional nanny for the past 4 years for two amazing girls from infancy to 4 years old. I love kids of all ages. Even my husband works with children. I've been taking care of children in one form or another since I was just a teenager with two baby brothers who grew up having me as a part time/second mom as our single mother worked very long hours. I also have a background of babysitting for many families and have taken care of many children over the years. I have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. I live in Orange as well so I know the area very well. I am not currently CPA or First Aid certified but I am willing to complete certification if it is required. I am hoping to find a nanny position between 30-40 hours per week where I can build a long term connection with a wonderful family. I've been fortunate to have been treated as part of the family by my previous employer as a nanny and I love the children like my own and have become great friends with the parents. I would love to connect in this way with a new family. In college I studied art which has been a part of my life since I was a child and I enjoy keeping little ones busy with all kinds of arts & crafts. I also enjoy teaching immensely and have tutored many family members in various subjects. I am a non-smoker and enjoy animals but am extremely allergic to cats specifically and cannot be around them. All other animals/pets would be perfectly fine. I would be happy to provide references or a letter of recommendation, talk on the phone or even meet in person. I'm also a professional wedding and portrait photographer on the side and work with children there too. Working to bring out the best in kids as well as being able to handle the more difficult times is something I take pride in...not only in my business but in my personal and professional life as well. Because of my business my weekend availability is inconsistent but workable, however, I would prefer a M-F schedule with only occasional weekend dates added as needed.
