Hi Families! My name's Maria, nice to meet you! Here is some quick info to share my experiences, current work, and philosophy on working with children. *** EXPERIENCE: I have five years of experience nannying for families with infants all the way up to teens. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Relations. I am TrustLine Certified. *** CURRENT WORK/ SCHEDULE: I work as a substitute preschool teacher for children ages 3 to 5. I also am getting my Masters in School Based Family Counseling, which has a large emphasis on working with kids, and also play therapy. I am looking for a part time nanny job that works with my school schedule. I have class Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 4:30pm at Cal State La. *** PHILOSOPHY: My goal of becoming a children's therapist fuels my love to work with kids even more. I Read more don't believe that there are any "bad kids". There are only kids that need extra attention, care, support, and love. Working in different schools has made me adaptable to different styles of childcare, so I am flexible. Although discipline is an important task, I aim to implement praise, understanding, and validation of children's feelings as a universal strategy to childcare.
