I am 25 years old, relocating from Maryland to California in August and am looking to line up a nanny/tutoring/support or babysitting job for at least my first year in the state as I get acclimated with the area. I have a dual degree in special education (grades K-8) and elementary education (grades 1-6) from Towson Universtiy. I've taught all grades/contents at a middle school for the past 3 years, with both typical and special needs children of a very wide range of abilities. I also interned for a year teaching first and third grade in typical classrooms. Prior to teaching, I worked at a children's learning center caring for children from birth-5 years of age, so I have experience with children from birth to teenagers. I also worked as an Intensive Individualized Support Service provider for children with Autism through a non-profit organization in Maryland. I am the eldest Read more of 5 children, so I have grown up in a big family helping to care for younger siblings. My youngest brother has special needs, and was my inspiration for becoming a teacher. I love children and teaching, but would like a year off teaching while I transition from MD to CA. I have my 90-hour child care certification in MD, and extensive experience with a variety of educational and behavioral techniques. I am a very positive, bubbly, enthusiastic, laid back, "go-with-the-flow" type, open to new experiences, and very comfortable with children of all ages. I am responsible, respectful, punctual and reliable. I can't wait to start a new life in California and would love to provide any more information that would be of interest! :)
