Hello my name is Heidi Rivera I live in Sylmar, Ca with my 3 wonderful children. I have always loved to work with children, when I was in elementary I would help out in the kindergarten classroom instead of playing with my friends. Once I graduated from high school I started taking child development classes at a community college. I completed 32 units and got a teacher assistant certificate. Later I started working at an elementary school as a teacher assistant and loved working with the children. Then I moved on to working at a daycare through CCRC also as a teacher assistant but at a higher level meaning more hands on experience. I was there for almost 2years and when the company sold it and new owner let most of us go. During this process is when I was introduced to the family with the twin girls. I really Read more didn't have any experience other than my personal. When the mother of the girls interviewed me over the phone she said "I need a reliable person to take excellent care of my girls, do you think you can do this" I was in shock and said "I just want you to know I have no experience working with just one family or twins but I offer you my experience as a mom" she then said "you have come from a very good reliable source of reference and I admire your honesty and willing to give it try since I only need someone for the most 3months". I'm very proud to brag that those 3months became almost 3wonderful years. We connected immediately and have become great friends. I was only working 2days a week for my girls so the mom decided to help me find for my other days. One of her friends was expecting and due in nov of 2012, so she introduced me to them and I started working for them when there child was 4weeks old and its been a great experience. I was introduced to RIE method with this family. I have enjoyed working with both these family every minute. I consider myself a very loving, gentle nanny. I enjoy reading to them and also going out on walks and most importantly communicating with the child and the parents. I have had my CPR and in process of renewing it again. I'm still attending college and working in getting my AA in child development. I also have a certificate in medical assistant. I love learning new things and whenever you are around children we are always learning.
