I am a kind, compassionate, and creative educator with many years of working in diverse environments with people and children of all ages. I am a strong advocate for hands on learning and connection through nature and creativity. I began working with children in my teen years, teaching swimming lessons for 2 years, then taught snowboarding in Lake Tahoe and worked at boys and girls clubs. In 2008 I got a job as an art coordinator at a non profit community center and stayed for three years. I also worked at a charter school from 2008-2010 teaching art and Spanish. I have worked as a naturalist and led children on small outdoor educational excursions. I have also traveled extensively and lived in Spanish speaking countries for long periods. I was most recently was a nanny for a friend's 2 year old in Mexico. In January 2016 I just completed a Read more mural making project with a group of youth at a community center. I am currently starting a small business selling my art at craft fairs, and working on designing workshops to bring mural making into public schools. My schedule is flexible and open right now since I am working for myself. I can provide excellent references.
