I have been living in North Park for 5 years, which is by the san diego zoo. I recently stopped being a nanny for a great little special needs boy since he was 2 and a half. When I first started as a nanny for him he could barely sit on his own. We had to spoon feed him because his coordination was not fully there. He has severe cerebral palsy, autism, a genetic disorder, and a shunt. He doesn't talk or walk. I've taught him 15 different signs in baby sign language, sat with him through all his Physical Therapies, ABA Therapy and Occupational Therapies. When the therapist couldn't make it, I would take over their therapy sessions and help him do those therapies with him. He is an amazing 4, almost 5-year-old, who now can sit on his own and walk on his own in his walker with assistance, Read more spoon feed himself, bunny hop from room to room on his own, use his signs to communicate and is now learning PECS on an iPad to show us what he wants through pictures. I would take him to his Doctor appointments, horse riding lessons so his hips, back and core muscles can strengthen, take him to swim lessons so his muscles can strengthen as well and on my own time, work on those swim techniques with him. We also would do fun activities: go to the zoo, the sea aquarium, blow bubbles, play at the park, sit in the grass and roll a ball back and forth, swinging, slides, paint and color, play with play-doh, read books and pretty much every activity children love to do, we did it.th special  needs 15 different signs in sign language, helped him learn how to spoon feed himself, helped him learn how to communicate with PECS on an ipad withpictures, watched and when the therapists couldn't make it helped him with his physical therapy, occupational therapy, and aba therapy. He is an amzing kids with many special abilities. Also, I have nannied for 11years for many families with children of all ages from 0-1 year olds an 2-10 year olds. I'm in need of a new family to help/nanny. I'm from Minnesota and after high school I was working full time at a preschool for 2 years with 2 and 3 year olds and realized kids are so much fun and amazing at how creative they are with their little minds and how much they learn/retain. Plus, they keep me young and bring out my inner child on a daily basis. I love taking the children on walks, playdates, parks, zoo, sea aquarium, harbor, to and from school if needed, listening to music, coloring, playing with bubbles, etc.  I also do some light housework for the children and other chores such as cooking, cleaning up toys, changing diapers, laundry for the children, sterilizing toys, organizing clothes and toys. I moved out here 11 years ago with a couple of friends and found my first nanny job and have been loving nannying ever since.
