I’m loving, very attentive, creative, self motivated individual who genuinely enjoys caring for young children. I find it extremely rewarding to help children develop into kind responsible people. I have my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. Have also taken various classes in baby sign language and music and movement classes through out San Diego. I have over fourteen years of experience working with children from 3 months to 9 years of age.  I've been First-Aid and CPR certified through American Red Cross. I am also bilingual. I love working as a caretaker because I appreciate living-in-the-moment. For me, there is simply nothing better than knowing I am making a positive influence in the lives of the children in my care. Perhaps the best part of working with children is that I have gained even more than I have given to the children I have cared for. Over the years, Read more children have taught me to see the beauty and joy in all the simple things.

My two kiddos absolutely love Ms. Veronica! I have a six year old and a two year old. I have countless good things to say about her, she really has gotten to know my kids interests and always brings library books geared towards each kiddo, she plays games with them, sings songs and has successfully put both children to sleep on time when my husband and I went on a date. There’s even more but those are just the highlights. She’s really outstanding, we’re so glad she has been such a great fit with our family!

My 6 year old son truly enjoys Veronica as a caregiver. Veronica is super warm and friendly and intuitive when it comes to kids' initial apprehension about being under the care of someone new. She was very engaged with my son, made sure there was continuity of house rules in my absence, and even brought over books that my son is asking me to read to him now as well.

As a first time parent, who was going back to work, I was very nervous about hiring someone to watch my baby. Veronica came to us with great reviews so we decided to give her a try. Our daughter loved her right away. It quickly became apparent that Veronica was doing a great deal to support our daughters language development, fine motor skills, and gross motor skills. Our daughter was learning a ton while under Veronica’s care and loved seeing her every day. Veronica was intuitive, thoughtful, empathetic, and kind while still setting healthy boundaries when our little one needed some guidance. On top of that she taught our daughter tons of sign language which proved very useful, and even taught her to put her books away when she was done with them. Our now toddler is very calm and easy going, with very impressive language skills and Veronica had a great deal to do with that by being there to support her learning during a crucial stage of her development.

When my former catsitter became unreliable, I looked to Sittercity for someone new. Luckily, I found Veronica, who lives less than a mile away. When I first met her, I was impressed by her friendliness. We talked for an hour as if we were long-time friends. I was also impressed that she also feeds her animals a biologically appropriate diet. I knew then that she would understand and wouldn't play down my 'high maintenance' CH cat's needs. Since then, I have asked her to help several times. Each time, she follows my two-page list of instructions to a T (plus does a little extra cleanup), she spends quality time with my kitty, and sends me photographic evidence that Cumbia is having a good time. And each time I come home to a happy, well-fed, and calm cat. Because of this, she quickly gained my trust and is my go-to catsitter now.

Veronica babysat for my 5 month old and 2 1/2 year old for two evenings in our hotel room while we were visiting San Diego. She is warm, friendly, and brought some books that won my son over immediately. He absolutely adored her. He has a hard time falling asleep in hotel rooms, but Veronica managed that just fine and he was sleeping so peacefully both nights when we returned home. So was the baby. She is an exceptional caregiver and I couldn't recommend her more highly. It's been a week and my son is still talking about "Veronica Good Friend." We feel lucky to have met her and would not hesitate to contact her again next time we're in San Diego.

Our son loves Veronica! Having started with us when he was just over 3 months old (& a preemie), I was very nervous about leaving my baby. Veronica made us feel at ease. She is very knowledgeable on the different stages of development and the activities that would interest/benefit him in each stage. She has worked with him on sign-language skills and has taken him to classes on this topic at the public library. She keeps him engaged throughout the day and also assists with activities such as swimming lessons. Her calm nature has encouraged a regular napping schedule resulting in a happy rested baby! We would highly recommend Veronica and are open to discussing any of her qualifications or questions you may have.

Hi. Veronica watched our daughter daily (5 hours a day) from age 3 months to 10 months. We are moving out of the country, so have to say goodbye to this wonderful nanny. During her care, we felt confident that our daughter was in safe and loving hands. Veronica traveled to Denver, CO with us and continued to give great care and make our daughter feel "at home" there by maintaining her same San Diego routine. She is calm and professional, and has our warmest recommendations. ~ Laura & Troels P.

Veronica has taken great care of our 2 year old son since he was about 10 months. He is heading to daycare and hence the change. Veronica is both very competent and warm. Of all the sitters/nannies we have had over the years, Veronica is the best. On her own initiative, Veronica started taking our son to the park & library and had soon organized a whole play group of other nannies and parent to meet together in the park or library so that the kids could play together. Now that our son has started daycare, it is obvious he has already learned many of the lessons of daycare from his play group in the park. Under Veronica's guidance and in this play group, our son has become very good at sharing, uses words to express himself instead of grabbing or getting frustrated, uses please and thank you better than his older brother, and follows instructions. For the latter, Veronica uses explanations to convince him to follow her instructions rather than making him do things. Veronica has a background in early childhood education and has an understanding of age appropriate activities. She has also taught him many Spanish words. She has done art projects with him, helped him with coloring, and other fine motor skills. She encouraged him at the playground and he has become a good climber and also played with him in the back yard to develop his large motor skills. Recently they have been working on puzzles with 20+ pieces and she has helped our son to do these sorts of puzzles himself. Since our 2 year old started daycare, Veronica has been picking up both our children from day care in the afternoon and is easily able to take care of both our 2 year old and 5 year old. Both children adore her and have a lot of fun with her. We would like to keep this going, but understandably she needs more hours than we can offer. We give Veronica our highest recommendation. Should you need any more information, we are happy to answer any questions you may have.
