I have over 5 years of experience working with children of various ages and needs in a multitude of settings. Each experience/job has proven to be more enriching than the last as I grew and learned from each person and family I was blessed to work with. My passion for working with children initially grew as a counselor for an after school program in which I planned, implemented, and supervised various activities for children (grades K-9), some of whom had special needs. As a counselor, I also provided academic tutoring for multiple grade levels and transportation daily. Later on I was employed as an Applied Behavioral Analysis therapist for a toddler boy with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. I worked primarily with him in his home, however I also assisted him in preschool as well as he got older. I graduated with a B. S. in Special Education K-12 (Mild/Moderate Disabilities) Read more and an ESL (English as a Second Language) Endorsement in 2013 from the University of Utah. During my senior year at the university, I completed my student teaching in both high school and elementary special education classrooms. After graduation, I began working at a residential treatment center for young girls aged 13-18 (some with special needs) for about two years. I supervised and interacted with the girls during multiple activities and therapy groups daily, and served as a positive role model to them. Over the summer for the past 3 months I have lived in San Francisco as a live-in nanny for two children (ages 10 and 14), in which my responsibilities have included transportation, meal prep, tutoring, activity planning, and supervision.
