Hi there! My name is Veronica and I just graduated from The Pennsylvania State University. Although I'm a bit new to working as a nanny, I've had plenty of experience with children. Studying child development has definitely impacted the way I think about childcare-- helping your child grow is my number one priority! Additionally, I've had experience working with children ages 3-5yrs at my last few jobs (I work in labs that do research in child development) as well as children with Down Syndrome. Throughout my time at Penn State, I've also been heavily involved with our campus philanthropy the "Penn State PanHellenic Dance Marathon" which raises money for children who have pediatric cancer. Being a dancer and working on varying levels of student leadership for this philanthropy has given me a chance to interact with THON Four Diamond Families and their children. One of my most influential experiences working Read more with children was this past summer, during my time volunteering abroad. I volunteered in the schools in Bali, Indonesia through Green Lion, an organization that works to support local schools by supplying extra English lessons to benefit the community. Though Green Lion is a well-established organization in Bali, the volunteers were not provided with many materials to work with for our lesson plans; creativity and flexibility were our most powerful tools. Though I primarily worked with children ages six through nine, due to religious ceremonies, I also had the opportunity to work with high school students and a “kindergarten” class with children ages two through four. These experiences have taught me that energy, enthusiasm, and motivation can solve most any problem; I look forward to working with children and continuing to learn from them! I have just relocated to the San Jose area. Additionally, I have a PA driver's license but do not have a car of my own.
