Hello, My name is Deirdre Torchia and I am presently looking for a Nanny Position. I have been caring, teaching and working with children for over twenty years. I am a Montessori Teacher who implements educational methods of developmental learning for each child I assist on an individual basis. I have completed my studies and received a College Diploma in Elementary Education, and a Special Needs Assistant Distinction Diploma. Upon completion of both my College Diploma of Elementary Education and my Montessori Certificate, I was required to study and learn about Educational Psychology. I have participated in many educational seminars and attended an Art Therapy Workshop i.e.: emphasizing the different philosophies of educational learning, methods, and development. The education, experience, and training I have had, has given me the knowledge and awareness to provide an environment to help the child achieve optimum growth in all stages of their development: physically, Read more intellectually, language, emotional, and socially. The interaction I have with parents, and the individual observations I make daily on the child, help me develop the tools I acquire for the child to learn in an environment that caters to their individual needs. I spend a lot of time understanding the child and their learning. Through my observation, I can mentor the child in the most beneficial way. The methods I use help me stimulate the child in all areas of learning development. I assist the child in focusing on the potential that lies within them, to become all they can be. I believe in each child and present them opportunities of hands on learning through independent choices to obtain the confidence and patience to succeed in life. My trusting, respectful, patient, creative, and understandable manner creates experiences that both the child and parents feel comfortable and know they have found someone who has the child's best interest at heart. I hope that I will be given an opportunity to achieve these goals in an environment that mentors the child reaching maximum developmental growth as an individual, as well as respected for who they are.
