Hello, my name is Marisa. I am a good blend of fun-loving, educator, and patient with six years of Professional Nanny experience, caring for newborns, toddlers, and young children. I understand the importance of positive reinforcement, being consistent, giving proper instruction, and setting boundaries so that children can grow to their maximum potential. My childcare philosophy—I believe children should have a balance between independent play, engaged learning, and a set routine, while maintaining a safe environment by being a caring and interactive childcare provider. I am as comfortable playing on the floor as playing outside and getting dirty. It gives me great joy to be able to have a positive impact on a young child’s formative years. Most recently, I’ve had the opportunity to care for a darling little girl since she was born. Now, at one-and-a-half, she’s starting daycare. My duties have been, but not limited to: bottle prep Read more and bottle feeding, healthy meal/snack prep, implementing nap routine, age appropriate play—both indoors and outdoors, reading books, singing, walks to the park, light housekeeping, and laundry. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I have raised two beautiful children of my own, who I am proud to say graduated from Duke and Stanford Universities. Don’t let the fact that I am not “thirty something” fool you. I am energetic and can keep up with the best of them! My hobbies include cooking, gardening, concerts, exercising, reading, and Dodger baseball. Certifications: Child and Adult CPR and First Aid Relevant Coursework: Child Development 101 Relevant Reading: No-Drama Discipline by Daniel J. Siegel, M.D. and Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D. * Fully Covid vaccinated and boosted.

Marisa has been full time nanny to our nearly 1 year old for about 5 months (since he turned 6 mos). She has been one of the very best things that could have happened for our little boy. She loves him completely and has so much fun with him every day. She's prompt, professional and organized - she helped us establish feeding and nap routines and put together a convenient feeding/nap chart for us to print out. Every morning she arrives right on time. She walks around the house with our son and they say good morning to all the random animals in the paintings on our walls, then she sings and dances with him. Marisa pushes him all over the backyard in his little car every day. She has taught him how to hold his hand up for high fives and is helping him learn to wave hello and bye-bye whenever one of us leaves for work. He stacks blocks, rolls toy balls and smiles all day long thanks to Marisa. She is a young grandmother and yet she's in better shape than either of us and plays with him on the floor all day long. She has been 100% reliable (has never missed a single day of work!) and is very accommodating to our changing work schedules. Another huge bonus to hiring Marisa is that she is not an aspiring actress or just doing a side gig until the next big thing comes along - she's 100% committed to her job and will never leave you in a bind (our other friends have had trouble keeping nannies for that reason). We honestly can't think of anyone else who would take better care of our son. Her encouragement has helped him to hit every key milestone and he's now learning to walk after 10 months.
