I enjoy being a nanny, teaching and spending time with kids because it doesn't feel like a job! Sometimes its easy to observe life as mundane but it it is important to step into the child-like sense of wonder and adventure we all have deep within us! Kids remind us not to take life so seriously, appreciate the little things and look at the world through a more curious lens. I have 10 years of experience working with children, including 4 years as a Pre-K Teacher at a Child Development Center. I have a reliable 2003 Subaru Forester, and as of now of an open schedule. I feel comfortable caring for up to 4 children at a time of any age (3 months old is the youngest I feel comfortable with). As an artist I find creative projects, and activities to be of great value in the life of a Read more child. I love to organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips etc. I practice non-violent communication and incorporate these values into my role as a caretaker when establishing/ enforcing rules for behavior, and maintaining order. I encourage children to be understanding of themselves and others. I can make healthy, well-balanced snacks, maintain a child-friendly environment with access to outdoor activities. For younger children I can attend to children's basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers. I can provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play. I can attend to chores around the house, homework help, play dates, pick up to and from school, etc.
