I love working with people of all ages, but children, with their huge imaginations and their abundant curiosity for the world, are the most fun. I've worked with kids for most of my adult life, and this past spring I obtained my masters in education. I've worked at many summer camp and summer school programs, and this has influenced my philosophy of care and teaching a great deal. I believe in giving children the opportunity to explore through structured and creative opportunities, through song, dance, art, field trips, and games. My invaluable experience in graduate school taught me how to help children to pay attention to their own learning process so that they can have real agency in their own academic, social, and personal growth. I have experience working as a nanny for four families, and have excellent references. Most recently, I worked with a family with a wonderful baby Read more girl from the time she was two months old until she was two years old. She and I worked on sign language and then verbal and written communication, and by the time she entered preschool, she was well ahead of the learning curve. Before that I worked with toddler twins with whom I engaged in a great deal of imaginative play, arts and crafts, music and dance, and outdoor adventures. Directly out of college, I worked with a family with three boys ages one, three, and five, who had a lot of energy and imagination. Following that, I worked with a single parent and a four year old girl. In addition to working with the children, I also had many other duties that I took great joy in. I see it as part of my job to help the whole household to run well and to smooth the lives of the parents as well as the children, thus providing more family time for everyone. I ran errands for families, picked children up from school and brought them to lessons, cleaned, did laundry, organized, and helped with home improvement projects. I am also a skillful chef, and can cook family friendly and healthy meals. One family for whom I worked had several severe allergies to contend with (eggs, nuts, and mangoes), and I did the grocery shopping and the cooking for them every week. I also love animals, and have taken care of family cats, dogs, fish, and even tortoises. I love working with kids of all ages. I can help with homework and academic goals, especially in reading and writing. As your nanny, I will celebrate the adventure of life with your kids, and help them to grow a little bit every day.
