Hi! My name is Kelcie, I'm 26 years old, and received my BA in education from Cal State Northridge in 2014. A little about my personality, I am outgoing, great multi-tasker, organized, excellent communicator, and extremely patient. I enjoy water sports, love being active & outdoors, cooking, art/crafts, and love spending time with my family and close friends. I have been working as a substitute teacher over the past year, and have acquired a diverse background working with children. I have worked as an early intervention teacher working with children of special needs (preschool level) , as well as provided childcare as a nanny for various families over the past 9 years. One family in particular, I have worked with for 8 years, they have 3 children ( 2 are twins) , and I was given the privilege to watch these beautiful children grow up over the years, accompanying their Read more family on vacations, attending school and extra curricular events. I am fortunate to have been welcomed into this family :) . I strongly believe that it is essential for children to have loving mentors, who can make a positive impact. One thing I have learned in my experience working with children and being in the classroom, is that children have inquisitive personalities, therefore it's crucial to know that the experiences, environment, adults, are what help shape them into who they become. I feel our responsibility as parents and teachers is to provide children with the best possible knowledge, and choices so they are able to grow into their maximum potential. I believe that children should be given the ability to become independent individuals by setting limits with positive discipline, praise, and encouragement. I enjoy being surrounded by kids because of their imagination, innocence, and creativity. Working with children is self gratifying and an enriching experience, because I learn something new everyday and walk away from the work day with a feeling of purpose. I love helping assist with homework, taking kids to extra curricular activities, enjoy engaging kids in arts and crafts, and of course... cooking :) . I'm looking to work with a family that is warm and welcoming. helping take a little of the "parent load" off their backs, so they can come home and enjoy some time with their kiddos.I am ready to start as soon as needed. I am open to both babysitting and nannying!
